Prabha Devi Law College affirms its commitment to providing an open, fair and respectful academic environment for all its stakeholders — students, faculty, staff, alumni and parents. To this end, the Grievance Redressal Committee (GRC) has been constituted to address complaints and grievances in a timely, transparent and impartial manner. The Committee’s aim is to ensure that no individual in the institution has to endure unresolved issues that hinder their learning, teaching or working experience.
Objectives

To provide a platform where grievances relating to academic, administrative, infrastructural or other institutional matters may be expressed without fear of victimization.

To promptly review and resolve grievances so as to maintain a harmonious and conducive environment on the campus.

To promote accountability, responsiveness and fairness in institutional processes and decision‑making.

To encourage suggestions for institutional improvement from the stakeholders and to implement corrective measures as needed.
Scope of the Committee
The GRC shall handle grievances concerning (but not limited to):

Academic matters such as teaching‑learning processes, examination evaluation, library services.

Administrative and financial matters including fees, scholarships, staff‑student issues.

Infrastructure and facility concerns like hostel, canteen, sanitation, transport.

Behavioural, interpersonal and other issues affecting the campus climate (excluding those falling under specific statutory bodies like Anti‑Ragging, ICC etc).

How to lodge a grievance:

Fill in the Grievance Form (available at office/website) or submit a written complaint addressed to any member of the Committee.

Attach any supporting documents (if available) and submit via email or in person to the Committee’s office.

Complaints may also be dropped in the grievance‑box placed at the main building/administration block.

The Committee will acknowledge the complaint, assign a case number, and initiate review/investigation process.

Once the enquiry is complete, the Committee will inform the complainant of the decision and any recommended action.

Timelines & Process

The Committee endeavors to acknowledge receipt of grievance within 5 working days of submission.

A decision or resolution is targeted within 15‑30 working days, depending on the complexity of the grievance.

Cases requiring further investigation or higher authorities’ involvement may take longer; the complainant will be informed of extended timelines.

If the complainant is dissatisfied with the outcome, they may appeal to the Principal/Head of Institution as per the institutional policy.
Confidentiality & Protection
All grievances filed with the Committee will be handled with strict confidentiality. Details of the case will be accessible only to the concerned members of the Committee and relevant authorities. Retaliation or victimization against the complainant, witness or any person assisting the GRC in the enquiry is strictly prohibited and will invoke disciplinary action.
Awareness & Activities
Regular orientation sessions, workshops and awareness drives are conducted to inform students, staff and faculty about the GRC’s role, how to submit grievances, their rights and responsibilities. A suggestion/feedback mechanism is also in place to learn continuously from stakeholder input and to improve institutional systems.
